| | Reviews / Comments Is this a popular beach? What's it like?April 10th, 2015Myrtle Beach is a very fun area, with an awesome beach. We just visited over spring break. We drove in from the north and found it interesting because we thought we were in Myrtle Beach but we were actually in North Myrtle Beach. There is a bit of a break and then you will be in the town of Myrtle Beach. They both seem pretty similar.
There is definitely no shortage of ice cream shops, waffle houses, mini golf courses and seafood buffets. We dined at The Giant Crab one night. It was a bit pricey ($30 for adults), but the food was very good. I would defintely go back and they have a really cool giant crab on the front of the building which is fun.
There are also several shows you can go to for entertainment such as Medieval Times, Pirates Voyage, The Carolina Opry, Legends In Concert. Unfortunately we didn`t make it to any in our short visit but the Pirates Voyage looked really fun and we heard good things.
The downtown area was fun to walk around and shop at and don`t forget to take a ride on the SkyWheel for a great view of the area. Further inland from the beach are some other attractions like WonderWorks (upside down building), Broadway at the Beach.
Overall we really enjoyed our two nights in Myrtle Beach and would like to visit again. There are a lot of things to do and just being on the beach is great. I highly recommend visiting Myrtle Beach!
